Purpose

How it is made
First each source is read page by page or post by post.For each unit we write what it claims and which method it uses to connect one thing to another.Then we write a 'narrative': an essay that follows one concept's chain of connections across the sources.Every concept in those essays gets a page in the concept dictionary.A concept page keeps established facts and the meaning inside the picture in separate boxes.Every sentence ends with a reference number that leads back to the source.The map links the 1,500-plus concepts extracted from the sources in three dimensions.
Stance
This site does not rule on whether a source's claims are true.Instead it separates what is established fact from what the sources claim.Established facts appear only in the 'Established facts' box of a concept page and in a source's 'Before you read'.'In this narrative' sections and the body of a narrative string together the narrative the sources build, as they draw it.Those sentences are not this site's opinion.The material covered includes claims that science has refuted, unverified health information and claims that name living people.The full criteria are in the editorial policy.
