The Garden of Eden is humanity's first paradise, described in Genesis 2.The biblical text says four rivers flow out of Eden: the Pishon, the Gihon, the Hiddekel (Tigris), and the Euphrates.The Tigris and Euphrates are real rivers that flow through Mesopotamia.Many scholars have placed Eden near what is now southern Iraq, but no consensus exists.The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil are two real trees named in the Genesis text.The Genesis text itself never maps these trees onto human organs.
