Is 432 Hz better than 440 Hz?
Once you see when and how concert pitch was fixed, there is little room left for a plot.
The recommendation to tune A to 440 hertz came from a London conference in 1939.The International Organization for Standardization adopted it in 1955.Before that, orchestras used their own pitch.Records from the 18th and 19th centuries range between 415 and 450 hertz.
Verdi really did argue for 432.In 1884 he proposed a lower standard pitch to the Italian government.His reason was not mystical but practical: singers' voices.Pitch had been creeping upward and making the repertoire harder to sing.
Red-pill material reads 440 as something the Rockefeller Foundation and the Nazis pushed through.The stated purpose is to trap people in the left brain and make them easier to control.A 1953 vote by 23,000 French musicians in favour of 432 is offered as evidence.
No controlled study has shown that 432 hertz is better for the body or the mind.Lowering the reference by eight hertz shifts a whole piece by about a third of a semitone.There is no evidence that listeners feel that difference as calm.
