The Illuminati (the Bavarian Illuminati) was an Enlightenment secret society founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt at the University of Ingolstadt.It championed reason and equality against absolute monarchy and the Catholic Church.Membership grew to somewhere between roughly 650 and 2,500.It was dissolved in 1785 by a ban from the Bavarian prince-elector.The '13 bloodlines theory' first spread through a self-published book by Fritz Springmeier in 1995.Springmeier was convicted of armed bank robbery in 2003.
